Butterfly Kisses

I have a special project that I did today.  Today I found out that one of my favorite die companies is having a DT call and well I decided to give it a try.  The challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs Blog is "Layers".   I made this awesome hinged box for their Pretty in Pink challenge 2 wks ago and I needed a card to go with it.  So this card is to compliment my pretty in pink box.

My card is decorated with Cheery Lynn dies.   My project uses 5 different Cheery Lynn Dies.  I used Border Carnival for my border across the bottom and top of my card.   Next, is the French Pastry die and layered on top of the French Pasty die is the English Tea Party Doily die. Next is the Oriental Butterfly die.  I used my Cuties 1 die, I cut this in pink 4 times and also in white.   I layered the 2 colors together and rolled them, then I just kinda fluffed/squished the petals open.  I added some pink pearls and Viola it is done.  Hope you like my project today.....

Sweet Stamps Happy St Patty's Day

Today our challenge at Sweet Stamps blog is to create a St. Patrick's Day project/card. This is an awesome challenge, we want to see what you come up with for this theme. Can't wait to see what you all can come up with, but be sure to use a Sweet Stamps stamp....

Anyone can enter, but if you use a Sweet Stamps rubber stamp you get two entries into the challenge for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree. Visit the design team blog and you will see what everyone on the Design team has done.

Here is my creation:

I used the "Sweet Stamps Clover Circle Silhouette" and the "Happy St. Patrick's" sentiment on my card today. I stamped the Clover Circle first using Shades Dye ink in Forest Greens color and then I stamped the sentiment using the same color inside of the Clover Circle.  I used a circle die to cut out my image.  I wanted a bit of sparkle to the stamped image, so I dug out my Spica Glitter Pens.  I used my olive spica glitter pen and went over the clovers and the capital letters in my sentiment to give it a bit of sparkle. Next I decided that I wanted to have some sort of mat  behind my cut out image, but nothing I had really worked.  So I used the Cherry Lynn Lace Light Deco Border and cut the border apart and layered each piece behind my cut out image to create a double frame around my image. I finished off with some ribbon, some pearls and a pearl brad for my bow.

I even decided to finish the inside of my card.  Here is what that looks like:
I used the same techniques for the inside that I did for the front of the card.  Hope you have enjoyed your visit here to my blog today.......

Be sure to visit Sweet Stamps blog and see what the rest of the team has created for you.   And please join in on the fun!

Chocolate Anyone!!!!

Hi Everyone!! Dawn B here on this Friday with another sneak peek using the Anthony and Burt stamp sets.  This Never Too Much Chocolate stamp collection is available today at Crafter's Companion! I am really loving this new stamp collection with these cute frogs and flies.

My project today used the Anthony and Burt Eating Chocolate stamp set. As I was coloring my image, I decided that it would look great on a gate fold card.

To make a 6" square Gatefold card, you take a 12x12 piece of card stock and cut it in half to the size of 6x12. I used my Ultimate Crafter's Tool to score my card. You will use the marking that says Gatefold 12x12 (this will be on one of the top sides of the tool, you will want to place the handle side to your left).  Place the 6" side of your card stock, up against the handle side of the tool and score at the gatefold 12x12 mark.  Then turn your paper 180 degrees and score the other side at the same score mark.  This will give you a 3" flap on both sides, you will fold the score lines so that the flaps meet in the middle.  This is the basic design of a 6" square gatefold card.  You can also make these in many different sizes.  The manual that comes with the Ultimate Crafter's Tool shows you several different sizes and where to score the card stock.  This is one awesome tool that can be used for many different things.  Check it out in the store HERE.

Once you have your card base scored and folded, you then decorate each side as you please.  On the front of my card, I have my image matted in the middle of the card front.  I took and only put tape onto half of my matted image and stuck that to only one of the flaps on the front of the card.  See pictures to left and below to see where I placed my matted image and what it will look like.

My stamped image is colored with alcohol ink markers.  I took and stamped a second image and colored only the fly (Anthony).  I took and fussy cut around him and popped him up over top of him on the colored image.  I added some lace and brown ribbon and made a flat double bow with a pearl brad holding it together.  I went a bit crazy with the pearls.  I made several swirls using the smallest pearls that were in my pearl pack.

On the inside, I left it pretty simple. I just added some DP paper that came from the same paper pad that matched the DP I used on the front of my card.  I also added a few pearls and matted my sentiment to match my colored image on the front.  Here is what the inside looks like and what the card looks like opened:

And a closer look at the sentiment:

And one of my colored image:

Aren't these images the cutest things.  You will be able to get them at Crafter's Companion  today.
See you all next Friday with another sneak peek of another new release......

Alcohol markers used: G8, G24, G21, C3, C1, R20, E77, E74, E71, E25 B23

What If Wednesday - Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge

It’s WHAT IF? Wednesday
and time for a new sketch challenge!
The sketch that Wendy designed for the Rock
Stars to follow is:

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used "912-K, Tulip Bouquet" for my image today and "1105-E, Thinking of You " for my sentiment.
I stamped my images onto cryogen cardstock and colored it using my Copics.
I decided to make my sentiment like a banner.  I took and stamped my
sentiment onto a 1/2" strip of card stock and cut out the ends.
I then used some pop dots to pop up my sentiment, I only placed
them at the ends and right in the middle.

Here is a picture of my wavy sentiment banner:

Head on over to the House That Stamps Built blog and
see what the rest of the Rock Stars have created with
this great sketch.  While you are there why not enter
a creation that you have done following the sketch.
The rules are really simple......
Your card doesn’t even have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps,
but if you would like to include our designs we would really love to see them!
Plus you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing
for using our stamps in your submissions! Simply create a
card based on the sketch, upload your card to your blog

Sweet Stamps Bingo Challenge

Today our challenge at Sweet Stamps blog is a Bingo challenge. This is an awesome challenge, we want you to choose a line, it can be horizontal, vertical or a diagonal on the Bingo card and create a project using those things. Can't wait to see what you all can come up with, but be sure to use a Sweet Stamps stamp....

Here is the Bingo card:

Anyone can enter, but if you use a Sweet Stamps rubber stamp you get two entries into the challenge for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree. Visit the design team blog and you will see what everyone on the Design team has done.

Here is my creation:

I used the middle vertical line with Die Cut, Ribbon and Bling.  My stamp is "Carousel Horse Facing Right".  I stamped it onto cryogen card stock and colored with my copics. After my image was colored, I decided to give parts of it a bit of sparkle, I used my clear Spica glitter pen (pic below shows the sparkle).  I decided to do a frame around my image, this was done using the Cheery Lynn Dutch Scallop Square Frame.  I added some pearls to the corners and also to my frame.  A bow in the lower left finishes off my card.

A closer look at my colored image:
Hope you can see all the sparkle.  The cryogen card stock already has sparkle in it so it helps to make your images sparkle.

Challenges Entered:

Pretty In Pink

I have a special project that I did today.  Today I found out that one of my favorite die companies is having a DT call and well I decided to give it a try.  The challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs Blog is "Pretty in Pink".

After creating a Hinged box for one of my DT's earlier in the week, I decided to try one again.  I think it turned out pretty great.  My hinged box is decorated with Cheery Lynn dies.   My project uses 5 different Cheery Lynn Dies.  I used Border Carnival to go around the top sides of the lid and for my handles.  Next, is the French Pastry die that I cut into fourths and put in the four corners on the top of my box. Next is the Oriental Butterfly die, I cut this out twice and layered them on top of one another.  I used the English Tea Party doily die as my base behind the butterflies.  The corners needed something, so I used my Cuties 1 die, I cut this in pink 4 times and also in white.   I layered the 2 colors together and rolled them, then I just kinda fluffed/squished the petals open.  I added some pink pearls and Viola it is done.  Hope you like my project today.....

Here are a few more pictures of my project:

Get Well Soon Anthony and Burt

Hi Everyone!!  I am here on this Friday with another sneak peek of the Anthony and Burt stamp sets.  This stamp collection will soon be available at Crafter's Companion. I am really loving this new stamp collection.

My project today used the Get Well Soon Anthony and Burt stamp set. My card is based on when you are sick and feeling blue.

I used blue as my card base and added some very soft yellow.  Anthony and Burt are stamped onto cryogen card stock and colored with alcohol markers.

Closer look at my colored image:

I took and stamped the sentiment onto a strip of card stock and then decided I wanted it to look like a banner, so I cut out a notch on each end.  I took and added some pop dots to each end of the banner and also in the middle so when I put the banner onto my card it is only attached at the ends and in the middle, so it is wavy.

  Closer look at my banner:

I used a border punch for my bottom borders and the corner punch that matches for my top corners.  I added some white pearls, I also wanted a few of the pearls to be blue, so I colored the white pearls with my alcohol ink markers.

After I created my card, my mind went back to when I was watching the Ultimate  Advanced Techniques DVD.  I really wanted to try to make a hinged box that Sara shows on the DVD.  It uses the Boxer that attaches to the Ultimate Crafter's Companion tool. All the directions to create this type of box and others are on the DVD. So I gave it a shot.  It is not perfect, but for my very first box I think it turned out really good.

And one more picture of both, my card and my hinged box together:

Such an awesome creation to give to someone who is sick and needs a pick me up.  You can add something special inside the box for that someone.

Keep checking  Crafter's Companion  for the new release. See you all next Friday with another sneak peek of another new release......

It's time for a new Challenge over at the House that Stamps Built!
The Challenge is called Designer's Choice.
Here's how the "Designer's Choice Challenge" will work!
All of the fabulous design team members for Repeat Impressions
will be assigned a Wednesday, and we get to set the
"theme" for the challenge!  The Theme for this
week's DCC is hosted by Joy and she is
challenging the Rock Stars to Use your leftovers on your craft table!!

Here is my creation for this challenge:

I used "7007-J, May the light..." and "7120-L, Underpants Frogs" as my image and sentiment today.
For my leftover/scraps, I dug into my scrap paper pile and my die pile.  I found a border that I had punched out in green cardstock, but never used.  I cut this in half and threaded some leftover ribbon through the border.  I also used some kraft card stock that I had sitting on my craft table.

Hope you all will join in the fun over at Repeat Impressions.....

Sweet Stamps Rose Challenge

Today our challenge at Sweet Stamps blog is a ROSE challenge. This is an awesome challenge, we want to see what you can come up with using a rose somewhere on your project...

I decided to bring out the parchment and create a card using Stacey's parchment techniques.  You can see her videos HERE as well as some samples that she has created. I stamped "Rosy Heart" onto vellum using White dye ink and I heat embossed it using the Fantasy White fine detail embossing powder.  You should see the sparkle that this embossing powder leaves.  I then used my etching/embossing mat and my soft grip stylus tools to do some etching on the back side of my vellum. I also did a bit of etching on the roses, not sure if you can see it or not, it gives the roses a little bit of definition.  I used my PITT India Ink Artist Pens on the back side of my vellum to color in the roses. I used the 4 split perforating tool to go around my final design to cut it out. Just don't look too closely at my perforating, I still have to work on it to get it to look the way I want it to. Right now it is still a bit choppy.... When I was assembling my card, I thought it needed some type of border on it, so I used the Cheery Lynn Anastasia Border die with purple and also with yellow card stock.  I layered the purple on top of the yellow border and then added some pearls to dress it up a bit.  And of course I added a small bow with a pearl brad in the center.  Whew....

Here's a closer look at my Rosy Heart:

That was a lot of Sweet Stamps items that I used today.  Check out the store, Stacey carries all the supplies/items you need to do the parchment craft.  Hope you will give it a try and please share with us when you do.  It is a fun technique and I hope to be doing a lot more of the parchment craft.

Be sure to visit Sweet Stamps blog and see what the rest of the team has created for you.   And please join in on the fun!

Paint Fusion Fuchsia's

Hello Everyone!!!  Dawn B here today to show you another sneak peek of the soon to be released Sheena Douglas Paint Fusion Stamps at Crafter's Companion.  I used the Fuchsia's for my project today.

At first when I saw these images, I was a bit unsure of how to proceed.  I had to do a Google search to find out what colors to use. Then I had to do some searching about the Paint Fusion stamps and techniques. Sheena Douglas has some video tutorials on how she paints her stamps. As I don't have any of the paints that Sheena uses for her Paint Fusion projects, I decided to try her painting technique using my Spectrum Noir markers.  I am pretty happy with the way the flowers and leaves came out.

I stamped the flowers onto cryogen card stock (you can see the sparkle of the paper in my pictures) and colored them with the Spectrum Noir markers.  I then fussy cut each flower and leaf out.  Each flower and leaf are popped up using pop dots.  I was going for a layered look.

Spectrum Noir markers used: DR5, DR3, DR1, PP5, PP3, PL5, PL4, PL3, PL2, PL1, JG6, DG4, DG3, DG2

Here is a side view to show the layers:

A closer look at my colored flowers:

See you next week for another Sneak Peek of another new stamp line being released soon....

Please note: the actual rubber stamp image may be smaller than appears here.

Sweet Stamps Top 6 Favorite Things and NEW DT

We at Sweet Stamps wish to WELCOME the new Design Team members.

Check out today's post at Sweet Stamps Blog to get to know these
new ladies and give them a WARM welcome.

There is no card challenge this week but leave a comment on the Sweet Stamps blog for a chance to win $10 of stamps - there will be two winners this week, and we'll go back to one $20 winner with the card challenges next week with our Roses challenge.

Also today, the Senior DT members are having a special post to
showcase all of our TOP 6 Favorite Things at Sweet Stamps.  Below you will
see my Top 6 Favorites..... Check out the rest of the DT's favorites on
the Sweet Stamps Blog and then go to the individual blogs
to read why these are our favorite things.

#1 Fantasy Embossing powders - There are 4 colors, gold, silver, ivory and white. These are fine detail embossing powders infused with holographic glitter for a subtle sparkly effect. These fine detail embossing powders give you a really great sparkle, and as everyone knows by now I LOVE sparkle. Try them on Parchment and you will say "WOW". I sure did when Stacey demoed them at one of the stamp shows. Give them a try and you too will like these embossing powders.

#2 Copics - These are my favorite markers to use to color in my stamped images.  They are alcohol ink markers and when used correctly, you will get a great effect.  Your images will POP with highlights and shadows.  These are my all time FAVORITE.....

#3 First Edition Design Paper Pads - There are so many different pattern pads, I don't really have one that I like over the others. You get some embossed, glittered, and double sided papers in the same pad.  There are 5 sheets of each design so it gives you plenty to use on your cards. And if you are like me and have a hard time finding papers to match to use on your card, these paper pads give you so many choices for mixing and matching.

#4 782 Rose Heart Large Stamp - A very pretty grapevine and rose heart shaped frame. As I really like Roses, this is one of my favorites. It can be used as a frame with a sentiment in the center of it or use it alone.

#5 7011 Cutwork Rose Stamp - This is another Rose stamp that I really LOVE.  I used this stamp to create a stained glass card using acetate and Pearl Pens.  This is another stamp that can be used for so many occasions.

#6 DL101 English Tea Party Doily Die and DL102 French Pastry Doily Die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  These are my 2 favorite doily dies from Cheery Lynn.  I love how there are so many different ways to use these.  Cheery Lynn has so many different kinds of dies that once you see them, you will want them all.  They range from the most delicate and lacy to just the plain shapes.  They get used all the time on most all of my Sweet Stamps projects.

we will not have a card challenge this week but leave a comment on the SweetStamps blog for a chance to win $10 of stamps - there will be TWO winners this week, and we'll go back to one $20 winner with the card challenges next week with our Roses challenge.

Thanks for stopping by Today!!!!

Stamp It Rose Clock

Hello Everyone !!!!  Dawn B here today with another sneak peek of the new Stamp It line that will soon be available at Crafter's Companion.   These are some really great "vintagey" style stamps.  I chose to work with the Rose Clock image today.  I really like flowers of all kinds, but roses are my favorite so I couldn't pass up the chance to use this beautiful image.

My image is colored using the Spectrum Noir markers that you can now get at Crafter's Companion.   This is my first card that I am sharing using these alcohol ink markers.  I am still learning the ins and outs of these markers, but I am pretty pleased with the way my roses turned out.

After my image was cut out, I kept my image in the die and used some of the Dusty Concord distress ink and sponged around the edges of the die.   I added some lace and a few paper roses as well as some pearls.

Here's a closer look at my colored image:

Keep checking back for more creations using the new Stamp It line from the wonderful Crafter's Companion Design Team.

Don't forget to check out our Challenge Blog for the new February "Something Sweet Challenge". Crafter's Companion February Challenge

Hi Everyone!!!  Hope your new year is going good so far.  Today is the 1st of February and that means it is time for a NEW challenge on the Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog.  The challenge for this month is  "Something Sweet".  We want you to create a project with Something Sweet in mind, it can be a card, layout, altered item, etc.  Just make sure you use a Crafter's Companion stamp in order to have a chance to win an awesome PRIZE.

Here is my creation for the February Challenge of Something Sweet:

When I saw these new stamps from Strawberry Kisses, I knew that this one would fit the challenge perfectly.  When I think of something sweet, I think about strawberries.  They are one of my favorites.  This stamp set is called "Strawberry Kisses YUM".  Be sure to check all the awesome stamps from Strawberry Kisses collection HERE. These are some really great stamps using animals, and if you are an animal lover, you will want to have the entire collection.

So get out those Crafter's Companion stamps and start creating for this challenge and you could win an awesome prize.

Make sure you go to the Crafter's Companion USA Challenge Blog to get all the details of how to enter, etc....

Thanks For Stopping By,
